A bird's-eye view of the park along the banks of the Mulde River

In Zwickau, the Mulde-Paradies, built atop the B 93 tunnel, has created a new and unique leisure and recreational area.

Its charming location between the city center and the Zwickauer Mulde River offers a wide range of opportunities to create exceptional open spaces for strolling, relaxing, playing, and enjoying oneself. Many new paths connect the historic old town—with its museums, cultural offerings, shopping, and services—to the Mulde-Paradies.

There is much to discover, including both the unknown and many historically documented artifacts from Zwickau’s long history. The landscaped area offers numerous unusual and interesting perspectives for this exploration.

Park features:

  • Schlossgrabenweg - Historic greenbelt surrounding Osterstein Castle
  • Schlossmühlenplatz - A pleasant place to relax not far from the former site of the Schlossmühle
  • Playground and Festival Grounds - An open space for relaxing, playing, and celebrating
  • "A Blaze of Color" Theme Garden – Colorful perennial beds paying homage to Max Pechstein, a painter and graphic artist born in Zwickau
  • Wallgarten – A reminder of the former city fortifications, featuring a powder tower and remnants of the city wall
  • River Stage/River Bathing Area – Plaza and Staircase, referencing the former bathing garden
  • Playgrounds – 'Knöpfchen' for children up to age 6 and 'Nadelöhr' for children up to age 12
  • Ringpromenade – Chestnut Avenue along the former city walls
  • Damm- or Muldenpromenade – Part of the regional Muldetal Bike Trail
  • Tränktor Square - A square located immediately east of the former Tränktor
